The exigency of charity for a generation stuck amidst the mayhem of pandemic
Charity may bear a definition in multitude of words and languages but if simplified means an act of kindness extended towards the most needy by individual means or through institutions and organizations.
Poverty is the mother of charity. While the whole world struggles amidst uncertainty, our country being one of the most populous is crippled and all we hear from needy and poor are cries for food, education and money.
With shrunken funds due to frosted economy, some NGOs have been nonchalant to their responsibilities making it more worse.
The real challenges on the table to be tackled are funding, ensuring virtual meetings, participation, building of new alliance.
Monetary needs can be met be disbursement of funds, government help and from donors.
The demand of virtual meeting due to reduced momentum would be a burden financially but creative approaches can be helpful in solving the issue.
Extensive participation can combat the financial deficit and can act as a motivation.By ensuring digital participation, beneficiaries would have more access to education even staying at home.
Building up of new alliance with more well funded organization, bigger NGOs and foreign donors can act as an smart proposition at hard times like calamities.
Everything is at a hault, but not for long certainly. If making change is our goal, let's start from ourselves initially.
I believe we are born with a purpose, the purpose of doing greater good to the society, and charity serves as one.
